If you’re watching this video, it’s most likely because you’re ready to crank your connectivity up to 11. We’re honored that you’ve chosen Õ¥Ö¼§ as your communications provider and couldn’t be more thrilled to empower you to push your business forward to new heights. We also understand that change can be scary, and since we’re customer-obsessed, we want to help walk you through what to expect on your Õ¥Ö¼§ connectivity journey, from contract to activation. We break our process down into four main phases: plan and design, permissions, construct and splice, and activation.

First up is our plan and design phase. A Õ¥Ö¼§ site acquisition coordinator or outside plant engineer will contact you to schedule a site survey where you’ll walk through your business to determine the demarc location, the place where we’ll connect our fiber to the required equipment, and the private property portion of the fiber build into the building. We also highly recommend inviting your landlord to the sidewalk if your business is in a lease space. As they sign off on the final plans, we’ll also be required. Again, we are just looking for permission to build onto the property so that we install our fiber right where you want us to be, and it helps us not damage any of the existing infrastructure along the way. The Õ¥Ö¼§ field teammate will then input the scope of work into a computer program for our design team to draw up.

Simply put, we’ll have worked with you to determine the best path to get fiber into your building, and we’ll have created a customized plan for your Õ¥Ö¼§ solution. While all this site survey and design process is going on, we’ll also coordinate with our outside plant team to determine whether there’s a need to connect into the right-of-way adjacent to your business. This is the public property outside that carries utilities. Hopefully, our existing infrastructure is really close to your property, but sometimes we may need a permit with the city, county, state, or some other jurisdiction to get your business ready for fiber awesomeness, and once we are there, we can open up the internet pipes to full blast as your business needs grow.

The next step is the permissions phase. After our design team has finished and the plan has been approved by one of our engineers, our service delivery team will send over what’s called a green light package, or GLP, that shows the proposed plans to run fiber to your business. This is your opportunity to look through the plans and either approve them or request any changes that you feel are necessary. The change requests are then sent back to the design team, and they’ll work to make any requested revisions. Once you’re happy with the green light package, you will approve it with a signature through DocuSign, or we will send it to your landlord to sign for their approval. We want to get your service delivered as soon as we can and may need your assistance if the landlord isn’t responding in a timely fashion. At this point, the plan to light your business has been communicated, put down on paper by our design team, and approved by an engineer.

This brings us into the construction and splicing phase. Once the contractor has it on their schedule, the Õ¥Ö¼§ field representative will work with you to schedule a good time for construction to begin. For this step, it’s important for a contractor to have access to your property. Once construction is complete, we send over our splicing team to splice your cable into our network. The great part is that because we use cutting-edge entrance cables that have already been spliced 90% of the time, the splicer won’t need access to your property. They will connect what’s called a meet-me point in the right of way outside. Once splicing is complete, it’s time to activate.

For the final activation phase. A field tech will contact you to schedule a time to come by, turn up, and test the circuit. Once you’ve given them access to your property, they will install the necessary gear in the demarc location that you decided on in the planning stage. The field tech will then work with one of our network engineers to make sure your node is now connected to our network and will test it to make sure everything is working correctly. The tech will then clean up the workspace and leave you to enjoy your next level connectivity while our operations team performs final quality control protocols.

And that’s it. That’s the journey. You’re in good hands with Õ¥Ö¼§, and we can’t wait to add you to our ever-expanding network. If you have any questions about any of our processes or procedures, please reach out to your account manager or assigned site acquisition coordinator. Welcome to the Õ¥Ö¼§ family.

Cara Curtis:

Cara Curtis out here at the American Cancer Society’s 35th Annual Chili Cook-Off, where we have been participating for the past 15 years. This is our third year to be the stage sponsor. This year, we’re going with a brand-new recipe, which is a Whole30 approved recipe, which enters us in the all-meat category.

This organization means a lot to me, and I’ve been a part of ACS for years on not just this committee, but also on the Making Strides Committee. I’m really thankful that Õ¥Ö¼§ has decided to become a partner with American Cancer Society. We’ve donated $25,000 this year to coincide with all of the local events. So, every donation that we give goes to everyone local. Everything we give stays in our market.

We’re really excited about this year’s Chili Cook-Off. Our tent’s right behind us. So, we’re really excited for three o’clock to announce the winners where we’re going to be in first place this year.

Biloxi PoP Shelter Build /2024/03/biloxi-pop-shelter-build/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=biloxi-pop-shelter-build Tue, 12 Mar 2024 19:52:55 +0000 /?p=248192

Hunter Payne:

Good afternoon. We’re here in Biloxi, Mississippi at our Biloxi PoP. What’s a PoP you might ask? That is a point-of-presence. That’s where our network comes in and we provide internet to our customers and ourselves.

What you see behind me is a chain wall foundation. It’s not your typical slab. Whenever you go to a PoP or a tower site and you see these modular buildings, they are on the ground. Well, not here!

You might be at the beach, wondering what’s behind the camera? What’s going on, it’s just regular Biloxi. What we’re doing here is trying to elevate this PoP for what could happen in a Category 3, Category 4 or higher storm. We want to make sure that our network and our customers are protected. So for that, for this PoP that’s going in, we’re trying to finish a long haul dark fiber project for our customer with co-location and power.

That’s what we’re doing here today. Eventually, we’re going to have our core traffic brought in and our backbone, and it will be elevated and protected. So why are we doing this? Because we’re Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber and we’re customer obsessed!

Marshall Law /2024/02/marshall-law/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=marshall-law Wed, 21 Feb 2024 23:39:16 +0000 /?p=248140

Marshall Entelisano:

Here at Marshall Law, we focus exclusively on bankruptcy, and bankruptcy is really a niche practice in the legal field. What really sets my business apart are my people. We’re a great team, and we all work together really well to ensure a great outcome for their cases. For me, I’m passionate about helping my clients. They’re going through the absolute worst time of their life. It’s something for them that they need to come in, and they need to speak with someone that is empathetic, that’s understanding, that’s knowledgeable, and it’s helpful. And so for me, being able to help people in their time of need is very rewarding, and I’ve been passionate about it my entire career.

Connectivity, to me, is synonymous with productivity anymore. Everything that we do now requires electronic filing with the court. So if we’re not able to file a case, then our client is subject to lose a vehicle. They’re subject to have their home foreclosed on. The legal practice is a lot about timing, and there are deadlines. There are times that things have got to be filed by, or you have a disastrous result for your client. So it is imperative that we have connectivity that is dependable, that’s consistent, that’s fast that we can rely on, and Õ¥Ö¼§ has provided that from me and my law firm. Once we changed over to Õ¥Ö¼§, which was a painless, seamless, wonderful experience changing over to Õ¥Ö¼§, we’ve not had any issues at all with connectivity. We’ve not had one down day. I have not had to worry one time about having to come into the office and wondering if I’m going to be able to file a case or if I’m going to be able to run my business that day, and I’m not having to try to reboot.

The other thing about Õ¥Ö¼§ that I really love is, I’m able to get in touch with someone if there is an issue. And again, so far, no issues. I’m thoroughly happy. For anybody that is considering changing their internet service provider, I certainly would encourage them to contact Õ¥Ö¼§. The cost, they’re not going to be able to beat that for the performance and the service that they get. And I can tell them they should have no qualms or misgivings at all about the installation process. I’m a thoroughly satisfied customer. I wish Õ¥Ö¼§ had been available years ago. I’m glad that I’ve got it now. I’m glad that it’s here now. And y’all got a customer for a long time.

Anchor Institute Middle Mile Grant Program /2024/02/anchor-institute-middle-mile-grant-program/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=anchor-institute-middle-mile-grant-program Tue, 13 Feb 2024 21:13:38 +0000 /?p=248126

Kay Ivey:
So today, I’m proud to announce the awarding of over $188 million to continue the expansion of broadband access in Alabama. This is what levels the playing field, ensuring that no matter your zip code, you can have access to the resources and opportunities you need to thrive. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected Alabama for generations to come. Without further ado, Director Boswell, I think it’s time to announce some grants.

Kenneth Boswell:
Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber, one project serving Butler, Lowndes, and Montgomery Counties. Grand amount, 4.2 million. Match, 1 million. Estimated miles, 63.7 miles. Estimated anchor institutes connected, four.

Andy Newton:
Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber is honored to be a part of the Alabama Anchor/Middle-Mile program, and we certainly appreciate the State of Alabama and the governor for our recognition of that. Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber has been building fiber to rural areas of Alabama for many years, and this grant will help us accelerate that process and connect schools and hospitals and government buildings all across our footprints.

Kelly McGriff:
We’re so excited to be part of the Alabama Anchor Institution/Middle-Mile Program. We’re very thankful for the state of Alabama for recognizing Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber and what we have done over the years to build out broadband connectivity for rural Alabama. We’re so pleased to be part of this program, especially with our partners in schools, hospitals, and county governments. And we are looking forward to utilizing these capital funds to build out more of our network, to bring more of rural Alabama onto the information superhighway.

Project Horseshoe Farm Fellows Visit: 2023 /2023/11/projecthorseshoe2023/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=projecthorseshoe2023 Mon, 06 Nov 2023 15:22:22 +0000 /?p=247969

We are very excited to be hosting Project Horseshoe Farm and the fellows that support their mission. Project Horseshoe Farm, if you remember back last year, was supported through some donations of Õ¥Ö¼§ in the community and that helped fund positions for two fellows. And we have the new class of fellows that supports their mission, which is many faceted different aspects of supporting rural communities. And that’s through the hospital. That’s through the children in the schools and other community-based needs.

The big thing I’m very excited about is we get to share that we will, again, be supporting their mission and presenting them with a cheque for $15,000 and they don’t know it, so don’t say anything yet!

Olive Branch Cafe /2023/10/olive-branch-cafe/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=olive-branch-cafe Fri, 27 Oct 2023 20:59:55 +0000 /?p=247948

The Olive Branch Cafe Food is best described as Cajun/Italian, more or less. I mean we have basically standard Italian dishes like pizzas, lasagnas, a bunch of different salads, but everything has a little bit of Cajun flavor to it. We have a pasta jambalaya on the menu that’s really popular. One of our most popular dishes is our Caesar salad. We make our Caesar dressing in-house. We go through about 20 gallons a week of Caesar dressing. Also the chef specials we run from time to time – we’ll pop up on the special board, and you never know what you’re going to get. Everybody in the kitchen kind of pitches in and we come up with some different ideas, but there’s always something new to try.

We also offer catering to local businesses and local community organizations and in your home, come see us, check out our menu online, and we’re happy to help you any way we can. And for catering needs keep us in mind as well. My slogan that I adopted a few years back is West Bank, born, raised, proud, and that sums up my attitude about my community. I’m just happy to be a part of it. I’m very proud of what we have going here on the West Bank, and I’m always looking for opportunity to do things to make the West Bank stronger and better and help folks in our community.

When I first opened up 27 years ago, internet connectivity at a business wasn’t even a thing. Now, I can’t imagine doing business without the internet, and it’s become something that we rely on. We need it not only to accept orders through online ordering or Uber, but we also have to transact electronically. Most payments now come via electronic payments, so it’s an internet-based transaction. Almost every transaction involves some level of internet connectivity – and I heard about Õ¥Ö¼§ when I was having such difficulty with my previous provider. Outages causing stress and anxiety. It was costing me literally thousands of dollars on a monthly basis because I was losing sales because of outages.

And a friend of mine mentioned Õ¥Ö¼§, and I was able to talk to Carl. And at that time, the fiber product that we needed was a little further away. But after a few months, Carl called me and said, Hey, rusty, I have fiber that’s closer to you. I can bring you service a lot more affordably. Are you interested? And I said, definitely I am. Carl walked me through the process of what was going to happen when the installers came. They were going to bring the fiber into the property or onto the property and then run it into the building. And the installers showed up at the time they said they were going to show up at, they did the work – they did it fast and efficiently. I had no interruption of service. My business was literally seamless, and that was a big deal to me.

After a few months of having Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber, the signal and the strength was strong and dependable. I realized that I no longer needed a cellular backup system, so I was able to eliminate the backup system. My faith and confidence in Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber has grown tremendously over the last year. And I’m happy to say that I’ve had no outages, no interruption of service. And with my previous internet provider, I could barely go a month without having some type of interruption, whether it was just minutes or hours, I didn’t realize how stressful it was. A constant threat of losing internet at my business. It takes a toll. There’s always that level of anxiety. Well, that has also gone, and it’s a great feeling to be able to answer the phone and not have a panicked employee on the other end telling you that your internet service is down and your customers are unhappy and everything is having to stop. With Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber installed in my business, my internet connection is solid and dependable, and I have a peace of mind, and my employees now have a peace of mind. And that’s just one less thing that we have to think about on a regular basis. So if you have a business and you’re depending on internet connectivity, I highly recommend Õ¥Ö¼§ Fiber.

Joe McCourt:

We are here this afternoon celebrating our pregame with our tailgate here at the University of South Alabama. We’ve had a longstanding partnership with the university – in fact, we have a world-class data center on-premise here on the grounds. We love supporting local organizations such as this. It’s very important to always give back to the community and we feel very strongly – actually, it’s part of our culture, who we are as a company. All of our employees are really jacked about the game and really look forward to a tremendous afternoon and evening.

Any Newton:

We’re here at the University of South Alabama/Southern Miss Game – the university of South Alabama has been our customer for over 20 years, so we’re excited to continue to support them. This is a great event, a great day – and also we’re able to talk and fellowship with our customers who are also tailgating here. So we’re enjoying that and we’re trying to be good corporate citizens for Mobile in this area. Should be a great game – and Go Jags!

Hollingsworth Design /2023/10/hollingsworth-design/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=hollingsworth-design Wed, 18 Oct 2023 14:25:55 +0000 /?p=247915

Catherine Millet:

Here at Hollingsworth Design, we design custom homes, where we draft floor plans, 3D model homes, and prepare construction documents. I personally love designing homes, being creative, and connecting with the client and like getting to know what their needs and their wants.

I love coming into work every day because I get to make clients’ dream home a reality. We have two design locations here in Metairie and in Baton Rouge, and we design nationwide as well.

What sets us apart from other design companies in the industry, is that we are a small company. We connect with our clients, we pay attention to detail, and we offer great presentation and lifelike renderings. I’m proud to be a part of a team that can execute any style of design.

Connectivity is important to us here at Hollingsworth Design because everything that we do is based online. And since we have two locations, we rely heavily on our online connectivity, keeping everyone from coworkers to clients up to date, through Dropbox, emailing and Zoom calls. Literally without the internet, we just cannot function.

We were first introduced to Õ¥Ö¼§ by Õ¥Ö¼§ rep Terry. He walked into our office and asked about our current service, and ironically, it was out at the time, and he told us about Õ¥Ö¼§. Since we switched to Õ¥Ö¼§, the service has been flawless from the very beginning. From running fiber, figuring out the best way to connect us, the Õ¥Ö¼§ services have been consistent for us. With our previous provider, we experienced frequent and unpredictable outages. Every single day we would experience either an outage or a slowdown. We were constantly making adjustments on the fly, so just using our personal cell phone service for internet connection. We couldn’t even upload PDF or send an email, and we work in Trello and just things wouldn’t upload. It was just like a productivity kill. You just felt like you couldn’t get your work done. So at some points, we would go home because we couldn’t get any work done.

With Õ¥Ö¼§, we have constantly dependable service, which enables us to be more efficient and productive in our daily work. Õ¥Ö¼§ has been the most dependable internet service we’ve ever used. For being introduced to Õ¥Ö¼§, the installation time, every promise that was made to us about the continuous speed and reliability, and the team was true. And after the service was connected, they continued to provide us with helpful professional advice and getting the most out of our internet service.

So all in all, we would highly recommend Õ¥Ö¼§ to anyone looking for a better, more dependable internet service. With Õ¥Ö¼§, it’s a lot different. It’s a whole lot better. No one had to go home. We can actually stay at work.
